Who needs the N endorsement?
Anyone hauling liquids or gases in containers of 119+ gallons totaling 1,000+ gallons. Many fuel, milk, and water jobs require it.
Is this the same as HAZMAT?
No - N covers tanks, H covers hazardous materials. Hauling fuel usually needs both, which is the X combo.
Does this course get filed to the FMCSA?
No. Tanker has no federal ELDT requirement, so there is nothing to file. You get a certificate of completion for your records and take the knowledge test at your DMV.
How many questions is the tanker test?
Typically 20, 80 percent to pass. Exact counts vary by state.
Can I add tanker and hazmat together?
Yes. Pass both knowledge tests and once TSA clears the hazmat check, your license shows X.
What if I am not satisfied?
Full refund within 7 days if you have completed less than 10% of the course and taken no quizzes. Bought the wrong course? We swap it free. A course already filed with the FMCSA registry cannot be refunded.
