What is the Tanker (N) Endorsement?
The Tanker endorsement lets CDL holders haul liquids and gases in bulk — fuel, milk, water, chemicals, and more. To get it, you pass a knowledge test at your state DMV covering tank vehicle safety: liquid surge, baffles and bulkheads, outage, and safe driving techniques. This course teaches exactly that material, then drills you with 47 practice questions until you're ready.
What You'll Learn
- Why tankers roll over — high center of gravity and how to drive around it
- Liquid surge — what it does to your truck and how to control it
- Baffles vs. bulkheads — what they are and how they change handling
- Smooth bore tanks — why food-grade tankers are the hardest to drive
- Outage — how much space to leave and why it matters
- Safe speed, stopping distance, and taking curves loaded
- Emergency steering, skid recovery, and escape ramps
- Tank inspection and retest markings
What You Receive
- 8 Focused Lessons — everything on the DMV test outline, nothing that isn't
- 47 Practice Questions — the same topics and wording style the DMV uses
- Bilingual Course — every lesson and question in English and Spanish
- Certificate of Completion — printable proof of your training
